Definition and necessity of calibration
Definition of Calibration
The act of finding the correction value of the measuring equipment used in industrial sites or research institutes by comparing it with the standard calibration equipment of a calibration institute.
Necessity
When measuring instruments used in industrial sites are used for a certain period of time, they become inaccurate due to various factors such as the surrounding environment, frequency of use, and durability. If these measuring devices continue to be used, the quality level of the products will ultimately drop, resulting in disadvantages for the company, such as being turned away by consumers. Accordingly, all measuring instruments used in the field are inspected periodically to maintain precision and accuracy.
Related laws
Article 3, Paragraph 17 of the Framework Act on National Standards
Calibration refers to a series of operations that confirm the relationship between the values determined by a measuring instrument, standard material, physical scale, or measurement system under specific conditions and the values determined by the standard.
Measuring equipment calibration cycle
Measuring equipment calibration cycle
As for the calibration cycle of measuring equipment, according to Article 42 (Calibration Object and Cycle) of the National Calibration Institute Accreditation System Operation Guidelines, the person who owns or uses the measuring device can set the calibration cycle scientifically and rationally on his/her own, but if this is not possible, The contents of 'National Calibration Institution Accreditation System Operation Rules Consolidated Notice Annex 1 (Calibration Target and Cycle of Measuring Instruments)' are applied as the calibration cycle.

① Traceability between the national measurement standards stipulated in Paragraphs 1 and 2 of Article 14 of the Act and measuring instruments used in all fields of national society.
Anyone who owns or uses a measuring device for improvement must periodically calibrate the measuring device, and for this purpose,
Calibration targets and scope of application can be set and operated according to internal regulations so that they can be performed at reasonable and appropriate intervals.
② In accordance with the provisions of paragraph 1, when a person who owns or uses a measuring device wishes to set his or her own calibration cycle, the measuring device
The standards must be set scientifically and rationally, taking into account precision accuracy, stability, purpose of use, environment, and frequency of use.
